Royals' Kendall set for shoulder surgery

09/01/2010 - Kansas City, MO (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Kansas City Royals catcher Jason Kendall is scheduled to have season-ending surgery on his right shoulder Friday.
Kendall has extensive tearing in his rotator cuff, Royals manager Ned Yost disclosed on Wednesday. Yost said Kendall is expected to need between eight and 10 months to recover.
The 36-year-old receiver batted .256 with 37 RBI in 118 games this season. He signed a two-year contract with Kansas City last December.

As players start to gather for the start of another season, some things change and some stay the same in the world of the NFL.
